What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are crowns (false teeth) attached to a titanium post that is inserted into your jawbone. The post acts like a tooth root, securely attaching the tooth to restore full function in chewing and speaking. The tooth is custom-fit to your mouth, so it looks like your natural tooth in every way, including shade, size, and shape. Dental implant posts are expected to last at minimum 25 years but can last a lifetime. The crown may need to be replaced after 10 to 15 years due to wear and tear.
